Trekking for QUEERFLEX

Support from the many communities we are part of is one of the biggest reasons we are able to do what we do. Which is why we were so excited and blown away when Laura Morrison (she/her) reached out about raising money for QUEERFlEX by hiking nearly 5000 km through the Continental Divide Trail (CDT).

Laura is a self-proclaimed “proud queer woman from Alberta”, and is a granddaughter, daughter, niece, sibling, auntie, cousin and friend. She is an athlete, student of life, social worker, dreamer and wanderer. She is a lover of nature, family, friends, and community.

As someone who has struggled in the past with addiction and an eating disorder, Laura credits much of her ability to honour her body, mind, and spirit to being able to positively identify as a queer woman and to connect with sport and movement. She believes that we all deserve a safe place in which we can grow, heal and discover ourselves.

This is why she is trekking for QUEERFLEX - and why she is needs your help!

Last year, Laura hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) - over 4000km from Mexico to Canada - and has been gearing up ever since then to fulfill her dream and reach her goal of tackling the CDT in 2019. The expenses of this trek itself will be funded solely through Laura’s own personal savings, and 100% of all dollars raised through this campaign will go directly to QUEERFLEX!
